1414111 Industry Council for Emergency Response Technologies iCERT 2019 Policy Committee Policy Objective: Promote Federal and State policies that encourage the widespread adoption of advanced technologies that improve emergency response and increase public safety. iCERT seeks to achieve this objective by supporting policies designed to address critical funding challenges and promote an environment that enables public safety to fully leverage technological innovation. 4

1414111 Industry Council for Emergency Response Technologies iCERT 2019 Policy Committee Adequate and Sustainable 911 Funding Work with government officials to ensure a stable and sufficient level of funding, and that money collected for 911 is not used for other purposes. Conformance to Open Standards Promote a pro-competitive and interoperable emergency communications framework through the development and implementation of systems and services based on open standards. NG911 and Other Enhancements to 911 Services Promote policies that increase public safety's use of NG911 and other advanced technologies. 5

"4111 Industry Council for Emergency Response Technologies iCERT 2019 Policy Committee Data Sharing between NG911 and Public Safety Broadband Systems Promote the effective sharing of data and the interoperability of data flows between and across those networks. Cybersecurity Protections Promote a policy framework and ecosystem that anticipates the potential for cyber-based threats and promotes effective protection of public safety networks, services, and applications. Investing in Smart and Safe Communities Educate policymakers and stakeholders on importance of investing in technologies that support "smart and safe communities," e.g., NG911, 5G Mobility, loT for Public Safety, and Cloud Computing 6

ttiliCERT 2019 Industry Council for Emergency Response Technologies Innovation Et Technology Committee Objective: Promote the development and implementation of innovative technologies that improve emergency response and educate iCERT Membership, Policymakers, and key Stakeholders on how such technologies can enhance public safety. ITC is a unique collection of industry leaders including both large and small companies (e.g., T-Mobile, AWS, Microsoft, ATOS, JVCKenwood, Comtech, NICE, NGA911, Intrado, Northern Lights Consulting, Newport LLC) working collaboratively to provide clear and unbiased information on technology issues important to the industry and to the public safety community. 7

ttiliCERT 2019 Industry Council for Emergency Response Technologies Innovation Et Technology Committee Internet of Things (loT) Define the relevance of loT to the public safety sector including what types of devices are most needed and how loT technologies can be integrated into current and future 911 systems. Cloud Computing Define the Cloud environment for public safety, providing a framework from which to evaluate its value proposition for emergency response functions, compare relevant architectures, and plan for effective migration. iCERT Work Product: "Data Center Evaluation Criteria"; a framework for comparing local on-premises and remote, cloud-based data centers. 8

ttiliCERT 2019 Industry Council for Emergency Response Technologies Innovation Et Technology Committee Cybersecurity Enhance the work of the FCC's CSRIC by applying its principles and recommendations to relevant industry initiatives; position iCERT as a technical resource to CSRIC and iCERT Members on CSRIC. Next Generation Networks Provide technical guidance to industry and public safety entities on integration on IP-based technologies into future 911 systems. 9
